Abdication
The weakness of a country
is not determined by the leaders
but from the decay of values,
corruption sponsored by greed,
as our society rots away
and we blame others
because too many of us
have forgotten our responsibilities
to the nation.
Deviance
Human behavior
is the strangest
of all creatures,
far more complicated
with a vast range
of emotions
causing endless conflict,
never allowing peace,
greed, ambition, lust,
all driving events
that lead to destruction
for millions,
year after year,
the cleverest inventions
bringing death
instability,
insecurity normal
since man climbed down
from the trees.
