Update on submissions for our Biannual anthologies

Thank you to everyone who has submitted work for consideration in Winter Wonderland 2022. We are continuing to read submissions and will get back to everyone soon. Due to the volume of submissions, we will now carry over any work received after 21st September for consideration in Midsummer Madness 2023 and not in Winter Wonderland 2022.

Stay with us for more announcements soon!

Off on our holidays

Just to let you know that we will be taking a holiday in the real world (and a digital vacation too from Bindweed) from 12th until 21st February. Check back in on the week of 22nd February for more poetry, fiction and book shouts in Issue 12.

Also, keep those submissions coming for our upcoming Ebook anthology, Midsummer Madness. We’ve had a great response, but there are still a few spaces left if you want to submit your poetry, fiction or anything in between.

See you soon!

A note from the editors

Hi friends and followers of Bindweed.

As you may know, Bindweed is a labour of love run by two writers to help fellow writers and to give back to the writing community at a time when so many traditionally published magazines are becoming defunct. We’re delighted that in its sixth year, Bindweed has been so busy that in September we had to close to submissions in order to read through our backlog.

Recently a contributor complained that ads are showing through her poems published on our site. Comments like this are unhelpful as sadly we can’t afford to pay for the Bindweed website – it’s a free WordPress blog. If ads are showing through the poems, unfortunately it’s because we receive no financial support/ Arts Council funding/ private donations. Complaining to us doesn’t do much, other than make us question why we devote so much of our time to help others who are negative in return.

If you want to help us to keep Bindweed going in 2022 or beyond, here’s how you can help:

Best wishes,

Bindweed on the move!

Dear Readers,

Due to a house move over the next two weeks – and with a sick baby, no less – there may be some delays with the publication schedule. Thanks for bearing with us!
